This month we are excited to have Eric Socolofsky joining us (virtually) to give a presentation on computer vision and augmented reality in Flash. Flash-based augmented reality using the FLAR toolkit has been turning up quite a bit recently in some really exciting demos and applications most notably the GE smart grid site. Eric works for the Exploratorium in San Francisco and has been a significant contributor to the FLAR scene with the release of FLARManager, an ActionScript framework that makes using the FLARToolkit much simpler. Eric will give us an overview of the exciting work that is being done with FLAR and computer vision and discuss his most recent FLARManager release (v0.4). This will be a fun, interactive presentation that will dovetail nicely with Lane's presentation from a few months back.
As always, food and refreshments will be provided. Presentation will start right around 7:30. So, spread the word and we hope to see you on the 23rd.
Thanks.
